Q. What is Balloonacy?
Balloonacy is a race across the internet with four different stages. You can make your website part of the race track by registering as a race host and embedding a teeny tiny bit of code into your website. You can even win a prize for doing so.
Q. How do I play Balloonacy?
Simply grab a balloon, give it a name and start racing across the internet. Nudge your balloon up, left and right, and grab as much air as you can, play the mini games and challenges to pick up bonus badges and make your way across the four different stages in the fastest time you can. There are some amazing prizes up for grabs, so get your race face on and go as fast as you can.
Q. How is the fastest time calculated?
We’ll take your fastest time for each stage then add them together as one overall time. The racer with the fastest overall time will be crowned champion and win the balloon ride across the Masai Mara. Remember, you can play each stage as many times as you like.
Q. How do I go faster?
If you use your boosts wisely and plan your launches carefully, you’ll do ace. Look out for power-ups these can reward you with air and badges to make you go faster.
Q. How can I race with my friends?
It’s easy. Simply connect with Facebook and email them an invite. If you see them while the race is on, you can add them by clicking on their picture, then follow them and even leave comments as you race.
Q. How can I see how I’m doing against my friends?
Click on the picture dangling from your balloon or look on the global leader board in the ‘friends’ tab.
Q. How do I follow racers who aren’t in my Facebook network?
Simply click on their dangling picture, and in their profile click ‘follow’ on the top right.
Q. What happens if I’m in the middle of racing and I close my browser or walk away from my computer?
Very, very slowly, your balloon will keep floating, being buffeted by bees and slowed by clouds until it reaches the end of the stage. But not to worry, you can get back to your balloon by simply visiting playballoonacy.com or by selecting the 'find my balloon' message within the game.
Q. What are badges?
Nice, collectable shiny things. There’s a prize for collecting them all.
Q. What’s waving, and how do I wave at other racers in the game?
Waving at other racers will give you more air, and help you go up faster. To wave at a racer, click on the tag hanging from their balloon and select the hand icon. You can also wave at your friends using the tag feed and comments section.
Q. Can I play Balloonacy on my mobile?
You can’t play the game on your mobile, but you can make your balloon go faster while you’re out and about by using the hyperblast function in the mobile app.

If you get stuck just email help@playballoonacy.com with the URL of the site you’re caught on and your user details and we’ll bump you onto the next site.
Q. Why isn’t the site I’m on loading Balloonacy?
There’s a few reasons why the site you’re on might not be loading properly. We can check this, and all you need to do is send the URL of the site to help@playballoonacy.com.
Q. Why can’t I see the leaderboard?
The leaderboard is down temporarily while we rescue some stray balloons that got caught in some high winds that left them with some odd scores. But don’t worry, we’re investigating them now and it’ll be back up soon.
Q. I’ve forgotten my username or password, or I can’t seem to log in?
We can help you login or reset your password at help@playballoonacy.com, just email us your current username.
Q. My site’s been removed, what happened?
If a player gets stuck on a site, we have to temporarily remove it from the race course while we check what’s happened, just so the player can carry on with the race. It’s nothing to worry about, and it can usually be solved easily by emailing help@playballoonacy.com.
Q. How do I become a race host?
It’s simple; create an account and submit your site.
Q. What will visitors to my site see?
Those who aren’t racing will see the small Balloonacy overlay, whereas people who are racing from site to site will see the full race version. The small overlay sits permanently on the bottom of your visitor’s browser, so it doesn’t prevent people clicking links on your page.

Q. How do I place the Balloonacy code?
It works in exactly the same way as if you were copying and pasting a YouTube video or Google Analytics code in your site. Simply copy it from the race host admin tool.
Q. Where’s the best place to put the Balloonacy code?
Placing it the closest you can to your closing </body> tag will make sure that everything else on your site will load before Balloonacy

Not long. Once we’ve run a few simple checks you’ll be good to go. It usually only takes a few hours.
Q. How do I know Balloonacy is working on my site?
If you can see the mini overlay of the game, you’re in business. It looks like this.
Q. How do I remove the Balloonacy code?
Simply delete it from where you pasted it in. Easy peasy.
Q. What happens when I remove the Balloonacy code
Racers will stop coming to your site and the mini overlay will disappear.
Q. How many visitors can I expect?
It’s impossible to be precise, as it all depends what path the racers take. You can keep track of your race stats inside the host admin tool.
Q. What will the message I leave other balloonists look like?
When you register your webpage you can write a message to racers flying over your site. It’ll look a little something like this:
Q. I've got a message saying that my site has been rejected during moderation, what does this mean?
This means that we didn’t feel the content on your site was quite right for Balloonacy.
Q. How do I remove my site from the Balloonacy race course?
Simply remove the embed code from your site’s HTML.
Q. I've got a message saying that my URL isn't working, what does this mean?
There are a few things this could mean. It could be that you’ve typed your URL incorrectly, that it’s currently down or that it’s experiencing high traffic volumes and is being slow to respond.
Q. I've received a message saying I haven't installed the embed code, what does this mean?
It more than likely means that you’ve not embedded the code into your webpage. You can try again here. It also means that you might not have copied the entire embed code. You can try doing this again here.
