terms and conditions

1. The competition is open to all UK residents aged 16 or over, except Orange employees, agents or their families or any company associated with this competition.
2. In the event that a prize is won by an individual less than 18 years of age, acceptance of the prize will be confirmed with the person's legal guardian.
3. The entry instructions form part of these terms and conditions, which by taking part, all competition entrants will be deemed to have accepted.
4. There is no limit to the number of times an individual may race the course.
5. Only one balloon per email address is permitted.
6. Only one prize can be won per person. If a participant wins more than one prize they will be awarded the prize deemed to be of highest value and the other prize will be awarded to the next best entry.
7. All entry instructions form part of the terms and conditions.
8. By giving us your email address you enter the prize competitions and agree to us contacting you about this Balloon Race and future Balloon race campaigns from Orange.
9. To enter the balloon race, simply register a balloon at www.orange.co.uk/balloonacy and begin racing on 8th November.
10. Orange shall not be responsible for entries that are lost, corrupted or mis-transmitted. Proof of submission of your entry is not proof of receipt.
11. The competition will run from 08/11/2010 until 17/11/2010. The exact time of day that the race will start on 08/11/2010 and will finish on 17/11/2010 will be announced before the race starts.
12. There will be prizes for the following:
    1. The fastest balloon/ person to complete the race course
    2. The second fastest balloon/ person to complete the race course
    3. The third fastest balloon/ person to complete the race course
    4. The first balloon/ person to complete the race course
    5. The best host website
    6. The first balloon/ person to collect all of the badges. The total number of badges to be collected will be announced before the race starts on midday November 8th
    7. The slowest balloon/ person to complete the race course
    8. Daily prize draw for collecting the ‘Musical Explorer Badge’
13. The prize for the balloon that is ‘fastest to complete the race course’ is:
    1. an 11-night break to Kenya for 2 people including return international flights from London to Nairobi plus internal flights and transfers throughout the trip.
    2. The winner and their chosen guest will receive 4-nights accommodation in the luxury Mara Serena Safari Lodge with breakfast, lunch and dinner throughout the stay plus a hot air balloon flight over the Masai Mara. This will be followed by 7-nights accommodation at the 5* Serena Beach Hotel & Spa with breakfast and dinner throughout the stay, a selection of watersports and a choice of either a Mombassa City Tour, a trip to the Arabuko Sokoko Forest, a Dhow Cruise or a spa session (consisting of a head massage and a body massage).
    3. £700 spending money will also be included.
    4. The winner and their chosen guest will be responsible for travel insurance, transport to and from the London airport and all other personal expenses.
    5. The winner and their chosen guest must have a valid passport with a minimum 6 month validity beyond the return date, with at least 2 unstamped pages and a visa (if applicable).
    6. Travel is available up to the end of September 2011 (subject to availability) but excludes Christmas, New Year and Bank Holiday periods and once booked cannot be amended.
    7. At least one of the travelling party must be 18 years of age or older. If you (as the winner) are under the age of 18 years old, you must be accompanied by at least one adult aged 18 years of age or older. Additionally, guests below the age of 16 must provide written parental consent to travel unless accompanied by a parent or guardian.

    9. The winner will be the balloon that completes the entire race course in the fastest time (four stage times combined) as determined by the software system supporting the promotion.
    10. If the winner fails to or is unable for any reason to accept the prize or cannot be contacted within 28 days of the conclusion of the race, Orange reserves the right to award the prize to the next best entry.
14. The prize for the balloon that is ‘second fastest to complete the race course’ is:
    1. a 7-night break to Egypt for 2 people including return international flights from London to Egypt and return airport transfers.
    2. The winner and their chosen guest will receive 7-night’s accommodation at Mandurah Eco Village, a beach-side eco-property overlooking the Red Sea, including breakfast, lunch and evening meals throughout the trip plus a snorkeling trip to swim with wild dolphins and a camel riding excursion in the desert.
    3. £400 spending money will also be included.
    4. The winner and their chosen guest will be responsible for travel insurance, transport to and from the London airport and all other personal expenses.

15. The prize for the balloon that is ‘third fastest to complete the race course’ is:
    1. a 2-night break to Kent for 2 people including return travel from the closest station to the winner’s home to Kent.
    2. The winner and their chosen guest will receive 2-nights luxurious accommodation at Livingstone Lodge, the African-style tented safari camp, 2 game drives in adapted 4x4s through the park plus breakfast each morning and one 6-course dinner in a traditional “lapa” restaurant (excludes drinks).
    3. £200 spending money will also be included.
    4. The winner and their chosen guest will be responsible for travel insurance and all other personal expenses.
    5. Travel is available up to the end of September 2011 (subject to availability) but excludes Christmas, New Year and Bank Holiday periods and once booked cannot be amended.
    6. Please note the camp is only open from April to October each year.
    7. At least one of the travelling party must be 18 years of age or older. If you (as the winner) are under the age of 18 years old, you must be accompanied by at least one adult aged 18 years of age or older. Additionally, guests below the age of 16 must provide written parental consent to travel unless accompanied by a parent or guardian.
    8. The winner will be the balloon that completes the entire race course in the third fastest time (four stage times combined) as determined by the software system supporting the promotion.
    9. If the winner fails to or is unable for any reason to accept the prize or cannot be contacted within 28 days of the conclusion of the race, Orange reserves the right to award the prize to the next best entry.
16. The prize for the balloon that is ‘the first to complete the race course’ is:
    1. The prize consists of a hot air balloon experience for 4 people.
    2. The prize includes a one hour hot air balloon flight, champagne toast, fully comprehensive insurance, a Flip Video Camera to capture the experience and lunch at a nearby venue following the flight.
    3. The winner will have a choice of UK locations for your flight when you book, you and your chosen guests will be responsible for travel to the launch site and all other personal expenses.
    4. Travel is available up to the end of October 2011 (subject to availability) but excludes Christmas, New Year and Bank Holiday periods and once booked cannot be amended.
    5. At least one of the travelling party must be 18 years of age or older. If you (as the winner) are under the age of 18 years old, you must be accompanied by at least one adult aged 18 years of age or older. Additionally, guests below the age of 16 must provide written parental consent to travel unless accompanied by a parent or guardian.
    6. The winner will be the very first balloon to complete the entire race course as determined by the software system supporting the promotion.

17. The prize for the website that is ‘the best host’ is the choice of either:
    1. A hot air balloon experience for 4 people.
       1. The prize consists of a hot air balloon experience for 4 people.
       2. The prize includes a one hour hot air balloon flight, champagne toast, fully comprehensive insurance, a Flip Video Camera to capture the experience and lunch at a nearby venue following the flight.
       3. The winner will have a choice of UK locations for your flight when you book, you and your chosen guests will be responsible for travel to the launch site and all other personal expenses.
       4. Travel is available up to the end of October 2011 (subject to availability) but excludes Christmas, New Year and Bank Holiday periods and once booked cannot be amended.
       5. At least one of the travelling party must be 18 years of age or older. If you (as the winner) are under the age of 18 years old, you must be accompanied by at least one adult aged 18 years of age or older. 18. The prize for the balloon/ person that is ‘the first to collect all of the badges’ (as specified in point 12 above) is:
    1. The prize consists of 2 x Unlimited Card to Cineworld including West End Cinemas, allowing you unlimited access to the 78 Cineworld cinemas across the UK and Ireland for one year. You are able to watch as many films as you like in any Cineworld Cinema. The prize will be provisioned in the form of a voucher which you will need to exchange at any Cineworld Cinema for your Unlimited Card.

    3. The winner will be the first balloon/ person to collect all of the badges (as specified in point 12 above) as determined by the software system supporting the promotion.

19. The prize for the balloon that is ‘the slowest to complete the race course’ is:
    1. The prize consists of 1 x Unlimited Card to Cineworld including West End Cinemas, allowing you unlimited access to the 78 Cineworld cinemas across the UK and Ireland for one year. You are able to watch as many films as you like in any Cineworld Cinema. The prize will be provisioned in the form of a voucher which you will need to exchange at any Cineworld Cinema for your Unlimited Card.

20. The prizes are non-transferable and non-refundable. No cash alternative is available.
21. The winners will be notified by email.
22. Orange reserves the right to award a prize of equal or greater value and, in exceptional circumstances, to vary, amend or withdraw this competition on reasonable notice.
23. The winners and guests may be required and therefore consents to taking part in some publicity for Orange as required.
24. The decision made by Orange is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
25. A list of prizewinners will be available at www.orange.co.uk/balloonacy after the race has ended.

28. A daily prize draw will take place for those players that collect the ‘Musical Explorer Badge’ which can be found throughout the race course.
    1. The winners will be announced regularly on the Race Blog and the winners will be contacted directly via email.
    2. The winner will be drawn at random from those players/ balloons that collect the ‘Musical Explorer Badge’.
    3. There will be two winners selected each day. Except on one occasion when there will be eleven prizes, and one occasion when there will be one prize given on that day.
    4. Prizes include signed albums, posters and goodies. For a full list of prizes please visit http://blog.playballoonacy.com/ during the race for daily updates.
    5. The email addresses of the winners of the prize draw will be sent to Universal Music who will send the winner their prize.
    6. Universal Music will only contact the winner about this prize and no other future communications.
    7. If the winner fails to or is unable for any reason to accept the prize or cannot be contacted within 48 hours of when the correspondence is sent, Orange reserves the right to award the prize to another participant drawn at random
29. A prize draw will take place for those players that successfully raced their balloon over the pages associated with the Orange BlackBerry handset prize.
    1. The winners will be announced on the Race Blog at the end of the race and the winners will be contacted directly via email.
    2. The winners will be drawn at random from those players/balloons that visit the associated Orange BlackBerry prize page from the time that the prize draw is announced on the Race Blog up until the end of the race at 11.59pm 17th November 2010. The page is http://uk.blackberry.com/services/blackberrymessenger/.
    3. There will be four winners overall, selected after the race has finished. The draw will be made on the 18th November and Orange is responsible for the delivery of the BlackBerry devices to the winners.
    4. Prizes include the following handset details:  One BlackBerry® Torch Smartphone, One BlackBerry® Curve 8520 Smartphone Dark Silver, One BlackBerry® Pearl 3G Smartphone 9105, One BlackBerry® Bold Smartphone 9700. Winners will be solely responsible for activation of the BlackBerry device. The prizes do not include a data plan or airtime - the prize is for a handset only. Winners will only receive one device each, according to the order in which they are selected from the prize draw.  Winners cannot select which device they receive – this will be determined by the prize draw.
